Show us something (or someone) old and beautiful.

Can't choose just one thing - so this is a random selection of beautiful old things I've come across in my travels.....

a) The Great Wall is old. I actually climbed these sections btw, rising at dawn after spending the night in a tower and scrambling up and down incredibly steep unrestored sections of the wall, taking in the views about every 30 seconds. It was one of the highlights of 4 1/2 months' travel.

b) These pillars in this mosque in Khiva are old - some of them dating back to the 10th century. The midday sun was filtered through a central window, giving the impression that we were wandering through an ancient artificial forest on a misty morning.

c) This lady is old, and so are her teapots. As gentle as she looks here, she was a hardened hustler of cheap beaded necklaces, or in fact anything that happened to be in her concrete hut near a lake in Xinjiang province.
